What I Hold Space For

Dissociation, OSDD & DID

The parts of you that feel most confusing are often the ones that worked the hardest to keep you safe.

Feeling disconnected from yourself, your memories, your body, or your sense of who you are can be one of the most frightening and isolating experiences a person can have. Dissociation is the mind's way of protecting you from what felt too overwhelming to stay present for. It is not a sign that something is wrong with you. It is a sign that something happened to you.

Chani offers specialized, trauma-informed therapy for clients experiencing dissociation, Other Specified Dissociative Disorder (OSDD), and Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). This work is approached with deep respect, careful pacing, and a genuine understanding of the courage it takes to seek support when your inner world feels this complex.

Sessions are built on a foundation of safety first, always, and designed to honor the full and nuanced experience of every part of you.

You might recognize yourself here if you:

  • ♡Feel detached from yourself, your body, or your surroundings, as though you are watching your life from a distance
  • ♡Experience gaps in memory or time that you cannot account for
  • ♡Feel like different versions of yourself in different situations and cannot always understand why
  • ♡Struggle to feel present even when nothing threatening is happening
  • ♡Have been told you are too sensitive, too complicated, or too much to understand
  • ♡Feel a sense of internal conflict or chaos that is exhausting to manage alone
  • ♡Have suspected that your inner experience is more complex than what you have been able to name or explain

You are not too complex to be understood. You are simply not yet in the right room.
